Welcome to one of the most demanded trips for the lovers of food and wine. In this adventure, we will be enjoying the gastronomy of Galicia´s region that produces five different types of wines that originate in these five different locations, denominación de origen areas. (The mainstream quality wine regions in Spain are referred to as “denominaciones de origen” “DO”, and the wine they produce is regulated for quality according to specific laws, and in compliance with European Commission Regulation). Galicia has five major wine regions: Rías Baixas, Ribeiro, Ribeira Sacra, Valdeorras, and Monterrei and we will be visiting all of them to learn the traditional ways of how they make the wine and where they originate.
In ALL IN GALICIA we want to offer you a vacation where you will feel as a local and not as a tourist. You choose the dates, the activities, and the people who come with you. We want to avoid big groups, so you can create a bond with your local guide and the places you go to visit. We want to run away from tourist traps and show you what the real Spanish Culture looks like.
You are on your way to a colorful and cultural adventure featuring the best of Spain. We will pick you up at the airport. Them, we will check-in to our hotel in Santiago de Compostela. We will have a welcome drink while we are explaining the itinerary for the week.
After we spend some time relaxing in the hotel, we will go for a small walk through the old streets of Santiago de Compostela
Dinner will be provided in a top-class Michelin Star restaurant which is next to the Cathedral.
Breakfast. Trip to Monforte de Lemos to discover its heroic viticulture, but also the historical legacy of Monforte de Lemos.
From the hand of a family winery, we will learn the history of a winery and you will discover the care and respect with which the vine is treated in these lands. We invite you to visit a secluded space, surrounded by vineyards and forests, where step by step you will learn how the Mencía grape, along with other varieties, evolves from the vine to being served on the table.
After lunch, we will enjoy a boat trip in Ribeira Sacra.
Dinner will be in Santiago de Compostela
After breakfast, we will be transferred to Lugo, where we will visit the most traditional market of the city with our private chef. In a small kitchen in the middle of the city, we will start our cooking lesson with the products that we bought previously.
Then, we will come upon the Roman Walls of Lugo, declared World Heritage Site, and its Cathedral with our guide tour. The walls, which were erected in the 3rd century CE, make a 1.5-mile loop around the old town, rise 15m high, and are studded with 85 stout towers.
Dinner will be in Santiago de Compostela
Our fourth day will start in Ribadavia, the heart of the Ribeiro Wine Region, a quaint wine town holding the secrets of an intriguing Jewish Heritage past that you will learn about on this walking tour. Ribadavia is in the province of Ourense, and it has a perfect balance of wine tourism and nature. In the morning we will explore the historic villages and visit a couple of small wine producing Adegas in the D.O. Ribeiro.
We will have lunch in a local restaurant trying some of the tasty local traditional dishes. Them, we will be visiting the fortified castle of Ribadavia, Santiago’s church of the 12th century, amongst other important historic landmarks.
Dinner will be in a Santiago de Compostela.
After breakfast we will go to the north coast of Galicia. There we will be visiting the oldest cathedral in the World from the 9th century.
Lunch will be in the best restaurant of the coast (Wine tasting). Then, we will be visiting the Cathedrals beach, one of the best kept secrets of Galicia. Small, vaulted caves, resembling medieval Gothic architecture, are strewn all along this section of shore.
Dinner will be back in Santiago
We will start our day in Ría de Arosa enrolling you in a journey through the landscapes of the estuary and discovering the way that people catch the seafood in Galicia. We will learn how to combine the wines of the region with the best fresh tapas while we visit Pazo Baion and Pazo Rubianes. This fishing village will allow us to learn first-hand how Albariño Wine is made, from the moment the grape is in the vine until it reaches your glass. You will taste the wine and walk among the vineyards; it will be a small hiking route that will awaken all five of your senses. You will visit the impressive Pazo de Fefinañes to try their wines and taste the delicacies of the Ría de Arosa for lunch. You will have free time to explore the area and we will visit the Martin Codax cellar.
Dinner will be in special seafood cuisine. It will be a trip full of culture, nature, wine tourism and gastronomy.
After breakfast, a local guide will lead us along the old streets of Santiago and its breath-taking cathedral. We will also be touring the University of Santiago de Compostela, multiple markets, and other fascinating places in Santiago. Along with the charming corners of the Unesco‐World Heritage city which will also be included in this guided day tour.
We will have lunch in “Plaza do Obradoiro” which is one of the most popular and beautiful squares in Spain.
Dinner will be provided in a special place
Our services will end, and each traveler will be awarded a gift to show that they completed the experience. We will drive you to the airport and make sure you get the next flight back home!!!
